
Beijing Kyland Technology Co., Ltd is one of the makers of EPA, (Ethernet for Plant Automaton), the first Chinese industrial automation international standard (IEC61158). We are the only company who is responsible for R&D of application of industrial Ethernet switch, one project of "863 Program", the National High Technology Research and Development Program of China. We are also the maker and promoter of China industrial real-time redundant fiber Ethernet switch standard. Kyland is the member of ZUIA (Z-PARK Ubiquitous-internet Industry Association), one of the hundred experimental units of innovational enterprises in Zhongguanchun Technology Zone, one of the 2007 Beijing Patent Engine experimental units, and also one of the recipients of technical stardard development funds offered by Zhongguanchun Technology Zone.

Explanation: EPA
EPA (real-time Ethernet for Plant Automation) is listed as Type 14 of IEC61158 (Edition 4), and also listed as Common Profile Family 14(CPF14) of IEC 61784-2 real time Ethernet application principles. It is chinese first independent intellectual property field bus national standard which has been officially accepted by International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), and completely enter the international standardization system of field bus.
EPA is a newly developed open real-time Ethernet standard used in industrial field devices. It applies many mature IT technologies to industrial automation systems. By using the efficient, stable and standardized Ethernet technology and the determinate channel scheduling strategy of UDP/IP, EPA established a brand new technology for the industrial real-time network of field devices. EPA is mainly featured in its determinable communication, interoperability, compatibility, security policy, redundancy and easy to integrate with existing systems.
Kyland, as the leading industrial Ethernet and optical network provider, is one of the main constitutor of EPA standard and the primary participant of China's "863" National High-technology Project of "Research and Development of On-site Industrial Ethernet Switch" which is supported by Chinese government. EPA(Ethernet for Plant Automation)started from 2004 and is one of the 3rd group of "863 Program", the National High Technology Research and Development Program of China. Having passed the strict testing and inspections, Kyland finally is approved as the new drafting member of EPA standard and its all efforts and contribution have been admitted and rewarded. Kyland joined the project team of EPA of "863 Program" and became the maker of international communication standard EPA.
IEC 62439:2008(E) is applicable to high-availability automation networks based on the ISO/IEC 8802-3 (Ethernet) technology. It specifies:
- a classification scheme for network characteristics (see Annex A);
- a methodology for estimating network availability (see Annex B);
- a set of communication protocols that realize high availability automation networks via the use of redundancy and that can be used in a variety of applications.
IEC62439 is the second international automation standard KYLAND took part in. And this standard has already been in FDIS (Final Draft International Standard) phase.
