(1) System Structure

In terms of strip continuous casting process, each slurry flowing control system controls one flow. All systems are connected via industrial Ethernet and implement key functions, e.g. dummy bar control, liquid level monitoring of slab continuous casting mold, flow control of second cooling water, automatic cutting, safety interlock and exception polities.

(2) Requirements of Network

Due to environmental factors like dust, electromagnetic radiation and high temperature, industrial Ethernet switches need to meet protection standards over IP40, and work well in high frequency radiation and at the high temperature of 75 degrees Celsius.

(3) Implementation

The Industrial Ethernet switches like Sicom3000, SICOM3016, KIEN6000, and KIEN2000 have been widely employed in the control system of strip continuous casting machine.
