Automatic Control System in Sintering Process

Automatic Control System in Sintering Process.pdf

(1) System Structure

The sintering process consists of many sub-processes, such as granulation, heating and cooling, compounding, coal blending, screening, precipitation, ventilation fan, fines returning and others.

Based on these process steps, there are three parts in the control system. They are the central control station, sub control station and field control unit connected via communication networks.

(2) Requirements of Network

The communication network can be divided into two parts, one is the ring backbone optic network connecting to central control stations and sub control stations, another is the dual plane network connecting to sub control stations and field control units.

The backbone network employs industrial Ethernet switches which have redundant optical ports and the architecture of the dual plane network is star fabric. The industrial Ethernet switches in the communication system are required to be qualified on EMC, wild temperature range, anticorrosion, and internal protection over IP40.

(3) Implementation

Industrial Ethernet switches such as SICOM3016, SICOM3000, SICOM3024 and KIEN6000 are employed in the backbone network of sintering workshops.
Industrial Ethernet switches such as KIEN1005, KIEN1000B and KIEN2000B are employed in the dual-plane network between sub control stations and field units.
