Integrated Control System in Brake Stations of the Dam

Integrated Control System in Brake Stations of the Dam.pdf

(1) System Structure1

The integrated control system in brake stations of the dam consists of a computer monitoring system, multimedia industrial TV system and distributed communication system. It monitors and measures parameters of all major equipment, including pump units, power supply system, brakes, water pools, and others.

The system can be divided into three parts. They are the central control system of the dam, distributed communication system and field monitoring systems.

(2) Requirements of Network

The distributed communication system is a ring network based on industrial Ethernet switches, and provides stable communication channels connecting to the entire control system in the control center and brake stations.

Due to the environmental factors like high humidity, thunder and electromagnetic radiation, the industrial Ethernet switches are required to be qualified as waterproof, anti-blushing and EMC.

(3) Implementation

Industrial Ethernet switches such as SICOM3024, SICOM3000 and SICOM8000 are employed in the redundant ring network of the whole system.
