The Oil Pipeline Monitoring System of Petroleum / Natural Gas

The Oil Pipeline Monitoring System of Petroleum Natural Gas.pdf

(1) System Structure

The oil pipeline monitoring system of petroleum/natural gas keeps pipelines safe by monitoring pressure, flow rate and temperature of pipelines.

The monitoring system has three parts. They are field measurements, convergence in pump stations and the central control station. The communication network between fields and pump stations can be industrial Ethernet or CPRS network. The network between pump stations and central control stations generally is the industrial gigabit Ethernet network.

(2) Requirements of Network

Because oil pipelines are very long, generally reaching thousands of kilometers, the monitoring system must be deployed the long distance. The network devices are required to meet many demands, including wide working temperatures, good IP protection, dust-proof ability and high humidity adaptability.

(3) Implementation

Industrial Ethernet switches such as SICOM3024 and SICOM6224 are employed in communication networks within the pump stations.

Industrial Ethernet switches such as SICOM3000, KIEN6000 and KIEN5000 are employed in communication networks between brake stations.
