(1) System Structure

The control system of flue gas desulphurization controls the processing of SO2 in flue gas in coal based power plants. The system monitors these important desulphurization devices by computers which are connected by industrial Ethernet network in the control center. The monitored parameters of devices are state of fans, flow and pressure of flue gas, liquid level of oxidation tanks and recycling tanks.

(2) Requirements of Network

Because of environmental factors like dust, salt spray and EMI, the network devices are required to be qualified for internal protection over IP40, no fans, EMC over industrial level 4, corrosion resistance, insulation anti-shake and high reliability.

(3) Implementation

Industrial Ethernet switches such as SICOM3024, KIEN3024, SICOM3000, KIEN6000 and SICOM3048 are employed in the communication network, connecting to field control systems and consoles.
