(1) System Structure

The DCS hydroelectric System performs collection of real-time data, monitors status, adjusts and operates equipment. There are three layers in the DCS hydroelectric System, including the main control layer, field control layer and communication network layer.

The communication network bands the main control layer and the field control layer via industrial Ethernet network.

(2) Requirements of Network

The architecture of the network should be a ring or star fabric network and switching time of ring network is required to be less than 50ms. The industrial Ethernet switch is required to be compliant with IEC61850 specifications and qualified for high temperatures, strong EMI and humidity.

(3) Implementation

The industrial Ethernet switch such as SICOM3000, KIEN6000, KIEN2000 and KOM300 are employed on the nodes of the distributed networks.

Industrial Ethernet switches such as SICOM3024, KIEN3024 and KIEN3016 are employed in the control center.
